How to Find B2B Buyers for Your Product

Finding buyers means building a list of specific people who can say yes to stocking your product, with a working email address for each. Not company names. Not a general info@ inbox. The people are category buyers at chains, owners at independent shops, purchasing managers at distributors, and the brokers and manufacturers’ reps who sell into accounts you cannot reach alone. Each type is found in a different place and each has a different idea of what a worthwhile first order looks like.

The mistake that wastes the most time is aiming too high too early. A national chain has a review calendar, a vendor portal and a list of requirements you probably cannot meet in your first year, while the independent store three states away can decide in a single email. Build the list in tiers and work the reachable tier first. Qualify before you write: check that the store actually carries your category, that the price point fits, and that the person you found still works there.

The hard part is that buyer contact data decays fast and most of the free sources are stale. Directory listings survive the person who left. Scraped addresses bounce. A list of two hundred addresses you never verified will damage your sending domain before it ever reaches a buyer, which is a slower problem to fix than finding the names was. Smaller and verified beats larger and hopeful, every time.

Twenty-eight guides here. Start with where B2B buyers come from and how to find wholesale buyers for your products, then read the one for the buyer you are chasing: distributors, grocery, boutiques or gift shops. The broker and rep guides explain the middlemen and what a commission costs you, and the qualifying guide saves you the pitch you should never have sent.
