Pricing and Margins Beyond Amazon
On Amazon the margin is what is left after the referral fee, FBA fees and ads. In wholesale it is what is left after you sell at roughly half of retail and wait thirty days to be paid. The two numbers look very different and are usually closer than they seem, because a wholesale order carries no advertising and no returns handling.
These guides do the arithmetic: fees versus retailer margin, how to set a wholesale price that leaves room for a distributor without breaking your Amazon price, what happens to MAP when you run a Lightning Deal, and how to fund inventory when Amazon pays every two weeks and a retailer pays in sixty days.
